Ability of self-control is very sectional one, because we cannot consciously achieve any success, unless we are have ability in some extend control our self, control our six senses: mind and five senses of hearing, seeing, touching, smelling, tasting. Yoga science speaks with as (12:57), who it can be develop all our life. On that extend in which we are ability to control our self and control our six senses, in that extend we can gain any kind of success in any field of life, as physical, emotional, professional, social and spiritual as well.
Now we try to see Personal Development and our lives throughout Yoga science scriptures as Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and modern science. Yoga said that mind, as one of our senses, just the instrument, tool like others our senses: eyes, ears, tongue, nose and skin. And same time our mind is quote tricky tool, because our mind has certain degree of independence from us. Usually when we speak about tools, they generally do not have their independence from us, like hammer, saw, screwdriver etc. If tool have any independence from us, than it will be very counterproductive. And same time mind is tool, who have in some degree independence from us. In Sanskrit, which is Yoga Sutras of Patanjali language, mind is calling Antakarana, which in essence mean – internal tool or internal instrument. In present reality, this tool call mind is having some degree independence and not so easily control by us.
For example, when we get angry, can we tell our mind – came down, be quiet? We can tell, bat usually he do not listen us, he is independent from us in some degree. Then for so many mouths, we thinking and thinking and thinking … some stupid sentence, what we heard about us. These word pierce our heart and we cannot so easily let go these rising thoughts, we cannot so easily control our mind and stop him think what he like and make think, what we like to think. Yoga said us, that by regularly in our day-to-day life we can consciously and gradually train up our ability to control our six senses and mind as one of them. As much grow this ability, in such extend we can consciously and gradually train up our personality, and that call exactly Personal Development. Ability to control our self and control our six senses is like shred of necklace, on which we can strung beads of our Personal Development in any colour or shape we like. We are bound to be helpless, slaves of our uncontrolled senses and mind, what we can see in so many instances through world history, where great kings like Napoleon Bonaparte, warriors of the world lose everything what they have and finally there lives, because they cannot control their senses and mind.
In general all ancient and modern philosophies, spiritual path, religions etc tray to solve this problem and help us control our self and control our senses and mind, and through that help us achieve our immediate life goal and finally help us achieve our ultimate goal of human life – happiness, blissfulness and knowledgeable forever, which is our inherited birth right.
Five concepts about our human mind from Yoga scriptures. To attain ultimate goal human of life, let us go deeper in our subject matter of Personal Development. In Yoga scriptures as Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, are mentioned five concepts about our human mind, which for us can be easy to comprehend (18:37):
- Our Mind is payable or menable– mind gets impressions ferry easily and by being payable, mind very easily change his shape (19:19).
- Shape or Form of mind determines our mood and all actions. The Shape or the Form of mind determines a lot in our life. Shape of mind makes tremendous impact on all our inner self: feeling, moods, thoughts etc. As effect of that, shape of mind makes tremendous impact on all our externals deeds: speech, actions, reactions on stimulus, decisions etc. That means, a shape of mind make deepest impact on all our Personal Development and whole our life in general.
- There are four crucial factor, which most influence a mind:
- Our present Environment.
- Our present Actions.
- Our past Upbringing or childhood, education, culture, birth place etc.
- Our past Karma, destiny, providence, star chart etc or all our past actions, which left certain impressions (Sanskrit:samskaras) in our conscious and subconscious mind.
- We can develop or change our mind – we can consciously become happy, blissful and knowledgeable forever with this same our mind, what we have right now.
- Ultimate satisfaction lies behind the mind – we can use our mind to transcend our mind (1:14:00). Very concept of Yoga said, that ultimate satisfaction lies behind the mind. When our mind stay stable in mode of goodness and becomes our dear friend, submissive, obedient, devoted to our true self, than with a mind we can transcend our mind and go beyond our mind. This can be very interesting subject matter for discussions, and same time this 5th point is not directly in our present topic boundaries. We can live this 5th point for other time discussions.
Behind these four simple points about our human mind, there are relevant and important wisdom, which we like to share.
Yoga tells as, that we can change our mind by changing our present environment.
Hardly we can understood, who much our environment influence completely all our life, whole our mood, feelings, thought, whole our actions and reaction on challenging situations, caused by our self, caused by others living entities and caused by nature, and higher natural or Supreme Power (23:46). Old ancient cultures in generally so very protective for human mind in contrary with modern “culture”, which so severely continuously and endlessly attack and bombard our mind. If we are not highly train to transcend or counteract present environment, than generally modern environment endless impulses, throughout needless information, media, senses agitation etc bombard and push our mind in some unhealthy, poor and miserable state, where our mind cannot function properly and not productive for our inner and ultimate benefit.
Real nature of mind according to Yoga are goodness [external link] (Sanskrit:sattva). Goodness is synonymous of mind in ancient Sanskrit language. In essence, goodness is mode, which produces the healthy and productive mind state. That means, if mode of goodness predominate in our mind, then our mind function properly (24:53). If goodness lacking in our mind, then mind in unhealthy and cannot function properly and not productive for our inner and ultimate benefit. As we see, mode of goodness in our mind, that mean in our present environment, is very sectional for our Personal Development, if we wish to gain any kind of stable success in our lives.
Human mind investigation from scientific point of view.
Mass, Energy and Structure – 3 minimum scientific characteristics of any material object.If in scientific field if we would like to describe any object, then in minimum we need to use three characteristics:
- Mass –grow characteristic of particular object.
- Energy – more subtle characteristic of same particular object.
- Structure – even more subtle characteristic of same particular object (27:44).
These are three characteristic, which are basic for any object, what we can describe in scientific field. For example, if we take coal (carbon) and diamond. Which of them will be more voluble, 4 grams of coal or 4 grams 20-carat of diamond? Simple ring with 20-carat diamond cost around 100 thousands USA dollars. Coal cost less than one USA dollars. Why such price difference for chemically the same material – carbon? Because the coal and diamond structures is different. Diamond have very highly order, highly, developed level of structure, other-way diamond have same chemically as coal – carbon.
Ancient science as Yoga said that these three characteristics of material object as mass, energy and structure have all materials object of all our creation including our mind. Personal Development, basically, means development of our mind, develop and increase structure of our mind. That, basically, means increase mode of goodness in our environment, increase mode of goodness in our mind. Generally our environment and our mind can be in three modes: goodness (Sanskri:sattva), passion (Sanskrit:rajas) or ignorance (Sanskrit:tamas).
Personal Responsibility for our Life.
In all major reviled scriptures, spiritual and religious scripture, as Bible, Koran, Bhagavad-Gita, Buddhist Sutras etc so elaborately are described our mood of mind and actions in different moods, attitudes, natures etc, because we can consciously change our predominant mood, that means, we can consciously change our predominate mind, actions, attitude, nature etc, that means – we are personal responsible for our own life and nobody else will pay price for our present negligence (30:27).
Any Meaning can be Described in a Graphical system or/and in a Textual systems.
In early day of computer era, there are initial operation systems as Unix and Ms-dos. Quote quickly these operation systems change to system like Ms-windows, Apple. What is the general difference between ms-dos and ms-windows? Yes, graphic system or textual operation systems? Systems like initial Unix, Ms-dos etc is difficult for ordinary user and Ms-windows, Apple etc are so simple for ordinary user, even simple for ordinary children. What we try to said by this example, that graphical concept, graphical explanation of word in us and around us are simpler as just textual explanation. Exactly this kind of graphical explanations of creations are using in major spiritual and religious scriptures, as Bible, Koran, Bhagavad-Gita, Buddhist Sutras etc. Generally modern sciences try to explain the word, the creation in very very difficult way, than generally even scientists do not understood each other. More often modern scientists work in very specialise, narrow area of his own research and he describe to others his subject in very difficult and complicate way. Did we notice this by our self? For sure, we cannot said this about all modern scientists, but in general. In ancient spiritual scriptures there are explaining a word and creation in very simple way, in graphical way. The so simple, that even children and less intelligent people can clearly understand what going on. Even children can use this graphic system to be clear about main our life question, “How I can be happy, blissful, and knowledgeable forever (32:02)?” The so simple, than even children can understood the difference between modes of nature as goodness, passion and ignorance.
In Bhagavad-Gita, Krishna answering on Arjuna question about modes of nature in very simple and graphical way explains:
= Mode of ignorance means: laziness, lethargy, sleepiness, drowsiness, delusion, heaviness, impurity, darkness, dullness, inertia, inactivity, materiality, depression etc. (Sanskrit:Tama guna)
= Mode of passion means: endlessly increasing anxiety and frustration, endlessly increasing desires to enjoy and control others etc. At the beginning, it can feels so enchanting, attractive and beautiful, but generally that end in miseries, because mode of passion can be used in proper way to get things done, to get out of mode of ignorance. Nevertheless, if we stay in mode of passion little bit too long, then generally we end up again in ignorance. (Sanskrit:Raja guna)
= Mode of goodness means: peacefulness, tolerance, satisfaction, cleanliness, humbleness, proudlesness; unity in diversity, spirituality, positive energy, wellness; harmony, balanced, regulated and healthy life; clarity in mind, intentions and actions; freedom from confusion and bewilderment; happiness, blissfulness, knowledge etc right now and more deeper in the future. (Sanskrit:Sattva guna)
Mind in the different modes of the nature.
In this simple and graphical way, we can very easily see these modes of nature in our own mind and in our present environment around us. Ancient spiritual scriptures generally present word in a very simple and graphical way, like the Prophet in Kahlil Gibran book [ external link], which is comprehensive and easily to use in our day-to-day lives. Scriptures said, that if our mind in the mode of goodness, we can naturally and very easily control our mind and our senses. If our mind in the mode of passion, mind run here and there, mind is so busy and busy, then we cannot concentrate our mind like we cannot control mad monkey. Generally, in passionate state of mind all our actions are agitated, restless, scattered etc. When our mind in mode of ignorance: lazy, down, sleepy, depressed etc, there is not chance for happiness, blissfulness, knowledge right now and not at all in future (33:30).
– Mind in goodness means controlled, happy, friendly etc mind.
– Mind in passion means uncontrolled, scattered, busily, restless etc mind, which are so attach to concept, “I will work very very very hard today in order to be wealthy, healthy, happy etc tomorrow.” If we stay in passionate mind state too long, that this happy tomorrow never will come, and we “suddenly” end up in deep frustration and gross disaster.
– Mind in ignorance means dual, bewildered, dark, depress, envious etc mind, which do not know what to do at all.
Concept of five state of our human mind in Yoga scriptures.This concept is so relevant to our Personal Development.
- Mudha – in mind is predominate mode of dark, total ignorance. That means we are dual, bewilderment, depression, lethargic, lazy, envious, do not know what to do at all, we do not have any energy, encouragement to do anything, pre suicide state of mind etc. To be honest to our self, generally, we voluntary end up in this state of mind. One of reasons for that, if we to long try stay in next stage of mind, Kshipta, which unfortunately is so common in present days of so called “eternal material progress and development”. When lower modes of nature as passion and ignorance take over our mind, they are so powerful, than we end up in deep and dark depression, pre suicide state of mind etc, which is so common in modern “progressive society”.
- Kshipta – in mind are predominate modes of ignorance and passion (35:38). In this state of mind, we are jumping from one idea to another, sitting in from of TV and changing TV channels in every 2-3 seconds. If we browsing internet, then changing website in every 4-5 seconds. This kind of mind it totally out of our control. Generally, all stimulants as black tea, coffee, strong perfumes, soda drinks, alcohol, tobacco, intoxicants, drugs etc stimulate this conduction of mind, which is totally out of control (36:23), fully under the modes passion and ignorance. If we are using this kind of stimulants, we are consciously and voluntary ruining completely our life, relationships, success, health, wealth, carer etc.
- Vikshipta – in mind is predominate mode of passion (38:14). This mind state generally have people with achieving mentality and we can notice that by our thought process in this way, “I will work very very very hard today in order to be wealthy, healthy, happy etc tomorrow.” Ii is not bad in one since, because by help of mode of passion, we can use a lot of energy, determination, strength, power, fast actions etc. Only there is one problem! By law on nature, mode of passion prompts to deteriorate in to mode of ignorance. Mode of passion have very clear determination and direction, and same time passion prompt to miss the ultimate goal and be too attach to immediate activities, goals, actions etc. That mean, in during course of time our vision in mode of passion will become more and more narrow, short sighted and maybe we will “win the battle, bat lose the war” for sure. In passion usually ultimate goal are misplace in sense gratification. That can give a lot of immediate illusion of so call “pleasure and happiness”, and same time ultimately we will become bewildered, frustrated and end up in mode of ignorance and deep, dark depression (39:20).
- Ekagra – in mind is predominate mode of goodness. Ekagra from Sanskrit meant concentrated mind. According to Yoga science, this is first healthy state of mind, compare to three previous unhealthy states of our minds. This kind of mind can be control and directed in one ultimate direction, which can be root of Personal Development.
- Nirudha – in mind is predominate mode of pure goodness. This is so high state of mind, which is not reverent to us in this topic about Personal Development, as we was already speak in mind 5th point “Ultimate satisfaction lies behind the mind”.
From all these mind states for our Personal development are extremely essentials and important is Ekagra, or mind in mode of goodness, when our mind is control and healthy.
Environment impact on our physical and mental health and life together.
One more scientific experiment with “mouse’s response to hard rock”, to show the environment impact on our mind and Personal Development.
Experiment was done by young scientific David Merrell [ external link] from USA at summer of 1997 and awarded by National Academy of Sciences in America [ external link] (41:46). “Merrill got 72 mice and divided them into three groups: one to test a mouse’s response to hard rock, another to the music of Mozart and a control group that would not listen to any music at all, rock or classical.
The young vivisectionist got all the mice accustomed to living in aquariums in his basement, then started playing music 10 hours a day. Merrill put each mouse through a maze three times a week that originally had taken the mice an average of 10 minutes to complete.
Over time, the 24 control-group mice managed to cut about 5 minutes from their maze-completion time. The Mozart-listening mice cut their time back 8-and-a-half minutes.
But the hard-rock mice added 20 minutes to their time, making their average maze-running time 300 percent more than their original average.
Need we said more? Well maybe we do. Merrill told the Associated Press that he’d attempted the experiment the year before, allowing mice in the different groups to live together.
“I had to cut my project short because all the hard-rock mice killed each other,” Merrill said. “None of the classical mice did that.”” [ external link]

Drinks, Food, Time, Place, Association impact on our mind in more detail way.
In this subject Yoga science and spiritual scriptures give more details, which particular sides from environment more influence our mind:
1 Drinks, Food (Sanskrit:Ahara) – really strong influence on our mind come from drinks and food. From two of them, drink are influences our mind immediately, changing predominate mode of our mind, particular, if these are stimulants, intoxicate drinks or drags. If we can look back in our own experience, if we take alcohols drinks, does it influence our mind or not? In simple graphical language, as we speak before, in Upanishads scriptures [ external link] was said (44:35), that after consumption drinks and food, it will be divide in three parts: 1/3 go to build the body, 1/3 go to waste and 1/3 go directly to our mind. It is means drinks and food has very powerful influence on our mind. There are also drinks and food in modes: goodness, passion and ignorance, what so far was not so much study in Western science. In Easter sciences as Ayurveda science [ external link] with influential scripture as Charaka Samhita [ external link] and Sushruta Samhita [ external link] and Yoga science this question, about modes influences on mind, drinks, food, environments, actions, occupation etc studied so accurately and deeply, because modes of nature permeating whole creation, whole inner and external world. For example, certain meal components may be good for our physical body, what generally studies modern Western sciences, and in mode of goodness, but because this particular meal was prepared, stored, offered and eaten in modes of ignorance and passion, it can be devastating for our mind and through mind to our whole life.
Moreover, usually Ahara we tend to translate as drinks and food. In true sense, Ahara means – everything that enters in us through hearing, seeing, smelling, tasting, touching, thinking, desiring and willing. Any information which come in us through our senses and mind: sight, sound, smell, touch, taste, drinks, food, thoughts, feeling, experiences, knowledge etc carried certain energy and that energy stay in as and influence whole our physic being and whole our mind and ultimately as result of that, whole our life (47:09) by influencing our progress or regress on path of Personal Development. In others words, on extend, in which we can be very protective to our mind and our life from lover modes of nature as ignorance and passion, and in this way rise and dwell at least in mode of goodness, on that extent we can really speak about Personal Development and positively influence our life. Protection from lover modes of nature is a key to our Supreme Success.
Violence in mass media products increase and represent modes of passion and ignorance in us and in sociality all together.
Generally, TV, Radio, Newspapers, Magazines, Internet, movies, billboards, shop windows etc is saturating with modes of passion and ignorance. “Laval University research found that Canadian television across all types of programming averaged 40 acts of violence per hour, and across all types of American television programming acts of violence averaged 80 per hour. … The American Psychological Association has concluded that seeing violence in the media encourages violent behaviour, especially for children who witness violence in the media. [ external link]” “Laval University professors Guy Paquette and Jacques de Guise studied six major Canadian television networks over a seven-year period. … The study found that between 1993 and 2001, incidents of physical violence increased by 378 per cent.(Source: Laval University, 2001) Incidents of sexual violence and sadism doubled between 1989 and 1999, and the number of graphic depictions increased more than five-fold. (Source: Parent Television Council, 1999).[ external link]” If we cannot use media extremely carefully, as little as possible, then during course of time they will drag down our mind to dark violence, frustration, depression, meaninglessness, pre suicide state etc.
2 Time (Sanskrit:kala) – is other factor which influence our mind, because in different times in environment are different energies more active through modes of nature. Let us said, for example, in night after 9pm 10pm. What people usually do in this time? Yes, go to movie, bar, disco, nightclub etc, try to enjoy sense gratification and relax from hard labour day. Way in late night and not 5am 6am in morning? Because in nature in different time more predominate the different energy. It is do not feel good, do not feel right to go to disco, drink vine or vodka in 5 o’clock in morning. Cretan time carry certain energy in it. To protect our mind and increase mode of goodness in or mind means go to bead early in night and rise from bed early in the morning. There is nice English saying “Early to bed, early to rise, make one healthy, wealthy and wise.” English culture there are talking about mode of goodness, who this simple rule, this simple law of nature influence our mind, body, spirit and ultimately whole our life. If our mind is clear, peaceful, calm, control, balanced, healthy and saturated with mode of goodness, then we can rise up to healthy, wealthy, wise and balanced lifestyle. Two hours before sunrise, generally from 4am 5am until 6am 7am is the best time to saturate our mind, body and spirit, our whole day with mode of goodness by some Personal Development practises in mode of goodness. If we would like to succeed in our life, then for that Spiritual wisdom advice us personally and regularly, every single day do some kind of spiritual practise: yoga meditations, chanting of mantras, prayers, reading of spiritual revealed scriptures etc. Our day-to-day spiritual practises is meant to bring our mind, body and spirit in Healthy Balance and Harmony with eternal nature around us and untimely with the Supreme Power, the Absolute Truth.
Unfortunately, people, in modern days’ cities with modern lifestyle, tend to go bed later and later and consequently rise up later and later, around 9-10-11am. In this way our whole mind tend more and more fall down to lowest modes of passion and ignorance, loneliness, violence, frustration, depression etc. We have freedom to chose what we are looking in our own life, as English proverb recommend to all of us, “Early to bed, early to rise, make one healthy, wealthy and wise”.
Regular day-to-day deposits in our mind, body and spirit in form of spiritual practises in mode of goodness, helps us overcome negative influences during course of day and stay more steady, peaceful, control, happy, blissful and ultimately achieve our goals and Supreme Success in life.
3 Place (Sanskrit:desha) – is other factor which influence our mind. If we are in peaceful, caring, soft, natural etc environment in mode of goodness, then it is make deep impact on our mind and goes long way to help us to maintain our mental balance.
4 Association (Sanskrit:sanga) – is tremendously important factor which influence our mind. Certain people with we are associate are increase certain tendencies in as. Moreover, these tendencies may or may not be so in mode in goodness. Association we have two kinds: direct and indirect. About indirect association consequences through media we already speak in 1st point – Drinks and Food.
Above we are list simple four things, which all of us can consciously manage in some degree and that influence and determined our mind, Personal Development and ultimately whole our life. This simple concept, what we speaking right now, Personal Development means increase mode of goodness in our regulated day-to-day life, in our food and drinks, in our time management, environment, association etc. If we increasing in this way mode of goodness in our mind, body and spirit, than we can be sure, we are developing in right direction (56:40).
Intelligence – so helpful difference between human beings mind and ordinary animals mind.
In Yoga science we are difference two different aspect in human beings mind:
– thinking, feeling, wiling mind (Sanskrit:Manas) – external reactive, thinking, feeling, wiling mind. The mind, which are working according to the stimuli, which agitate us and our mind react on these stimuli (58:51).
– abilities to analyze and rationalize, intelligence, willpower (Sanskrit:Buddhi) – ability for self introspection, ability to see our self from outside, abilities differentiate, understood, voluntary and consciously select healthy choose.
Concept of Personal Development according to Yoga sciences, means increase mode of goodness in our environment, life and mind. Other important aspect in Personal Development is development our healthy intelligence, the ability to differentiate and consciously, voluntary select healthy actions by body, mind and word. In others word, healthy intelligence means our abilities to see our self from outside, to be witness of our self. This concept of witnessing our self from outside is deeply develop in different meditation [ external link] technique and schools, like Bahai Faith, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Jainism, Judaism, New Age, Sikhism, Taoism, Secular Mindfulness Meditation and others.
When we are willing to really develop our personality, we need also really to develop and use self-introspection, to see and mark our development on the scale of time. If we are really developing or degradation by our present day-to-day activities and lifestyle. Concepts of mode of goodness and self-introspection give as handy tools to see, who we are develop or not? In which direction ultimately am I going right now? And self introspection or self analysis give as more clear understanding of self progress. We essentially need to set certain gouts of our life to increase these healthy quality in our mind, and for that, I actually need self-introspection, or self-analysis.
In spiritual culture, there is concept of vow, keep be determined (Sanskrit:Vrata) and by keeping and following to our vow we are gradually developing our willpower or self-introspection. Ability to bring, our naturally restless mind and senses, under the certain conscious control.
Personal Development from Physiology science in different modes of nature

Sigmund Freud (1856 –1939) [ external link], the father of modern physiology, studies the Personal Development in mode of ignorance. He said that main impetus, the main goal of human life is only gross senses gratification, senses enjoyment. He said that main drive in human being is drive to enjoy with is epitomize by sex drive. Therefore, Sigmund Freud is so famous about His physiological investigation about this sex drive and so fours in humans’ lives from birth to death. So much investigation in smallest details about sex desires, sex impulses, sex dream and fantasies etc lead by father of modern physiology Sigmund Freud.
Alfred Adler (1870 – 1937) [ external link], disciple of Sigmund Freud, studies the Personal Development in mode of passion. After study sex physiology for while, Alfred Adler finally said, my teacher Sigmund Freud are wrong, the drive for sex enjoyments is very strong, do not doubts about that, and same time much stronger drive in human being is drive for power. Drive to have certain status, fame, influential position in life. This is Alfred Adler main ideas, what is main impetus or drive in human life, in human physiology – drive for power (1:04:00).
Viktor Frankl (1905 –1997) [ external link], was other disciple of Sigmund Freud, studies the Personal Development in mode of goodness. For some time he investigates physiology science together with Alfred Adler. Finally, Viktor Frankl starts his own field in physiology science, known as Man’s Search for Meaning [ external link]. He said that there is much more important and more powerful, stronger drive, in comparison to drive for sex enjoyment and drive for power, in our human live – our natural and healthy drive for meaning in our life. Drive for meaningful human life, searching for Meaning of life [ external link] (1:05:00). He was developing very elaborate psychotherapy techniques; baste of concept “Man’s Search for Meaning” and this technique work wonders, like existential therapy [ external link] or logo therapy [ external link]. He proves with a lot of clarities and scientific experiments, that this main impetus or drive for meaningful human life is most strongest in any human being. He proves that any human being wants to have meaningful human life and drive for that.
Three so influential psychological theories connection with modes of nature – ignorance, passion and goodness.
If right now, we can try relate these three influential psychological theories with concept about modes of nature – ignorance, passion and goodness, then we can see (1:06:00):
– If lowest mode of nature, ignorance predominates in our mind, then main drive in us will be drive for sex enjoyment, drive for intoxications, in other word drive for grows senses enjoyment. We can see, that people, who are very low develop or under develop, behave like animals. For them main drive is gross senses enjoyment. There are really nosing else in their lives. If we deprive them for their grows senses enjoyments, then we deprive them from their life.
– If mode of passion predominates in our mind, then main drive in us will be drive for certain status, fame, influential position in life. This trade also in everyone human body, physiology and in some extend in everyone behavior and mind.
– If mode of goodness predominates in our mind, then naturally we have strong drive for meaningful human life, searching for Meaning of life.
We can see, anyone of as, every human being, some more and some less, looking for structured, Balanced and Healthy life, looking for meaningful human life, searching for Meaning of life in so many and different way, according to mode of nature, which presently predominate in our mind. Concept of meaningful life very much related with mode of goodness in our mind, in or day-to-day life.
We are human being and we are born free with freedom to choose – what we will do with our human life?
In conclusion, we are human being and we are born free. We have freedom to choose – what we will do with our human life? As Viktor Frankyl said, “The greatest of all human freedoms is the freedom to choose in any given set of circumstances”. We have freedom to choose, accordingly to our meaning of life, what kind of association we want. Otherwise, there is not so much freedom to choose between our pats: birth place, parents, past actions, past misdeed etc. All of us in some extend can choose our present associations, people and contacts, with making more relevant impact on our lives. Because human beings are social creatures, according to these our present physical and emotional associations, we will choose accordingly: culture, habits, desires, occupation, entertainment, living place, spiritual practises, daily routine, drinks, food, environment, books, hear and dress style etc etc etc. These our association will increase our decrees certain modes of nature in our mind, in our Personal Development, in our whole life.
Depending of our present conscious and voluntary choices about our associations, our life will be more and more direct:
– Towards stronger and stronger drive for sex enjoyments, drive for intoxications, drive for gross senses enjoyments. There are some Personal Development schools and spiritual practises, who teach us, how we can enjoy more nicely and in this ways we for some time can thing, “I so highly advance and develop, because I can enjoy so nicely sex enjoyment and many others gross senses enjoyments. I am so highly develop now.” In this direction, for some time, we can have so call “fun and joy” in our life until it will naturally end up with broken heart and relationships, emptiness and deep, dark depression.
– Towards stronger and stronger drive for certain status, fame, influential position in life. If we following this direction in our lives, during course of time, it will bring more and more frustration in our life. As Viktor Frankl said very clearly, even if, very great effort, we will get some influential position in our life, some status, sooner or later we will going to lose it, because we will not be able to maintain this status. Because other around us are looking for this same “enjoyer” position, and will pull as down. That do not mater, who much we are successful in regards of high status in our life, we will going to lose it and frustration will be there. 😦
– Towards stronger and stronger drive for the meaningful human life. Searching for Meaning of life, for structured and regulated life, for Balanced and Healthy life, ultimately we will attend happiness, blissfulness and knowledge forever.
These three different paths of self development are described in different ancient and modern, eastern and western scriptures, schools and spiritual practises.

Superficially, we can say, there are three different path of Personal Development. We hope, now we can clearly see by our own self, ultimately there is only one path of Personal Development – cultivating in our body, mind, words, day-to-day life natural mode of goodness, which led us to happiness, blissfulness and knowledge forever. As we can see in this article “The Scientific base of Personal Development”, two other path led as to frustration and deep, dark depression. Looks like, these other two paths of Personal Development in modes of passion and ignorance, in truce since, we cannot really call Personal Development.
By seeing and contemplate all this scientific base of Personal Development, we are responsible for our free choose. Are we will strive to have Happy, Blissful and Knowledge Life Forever or endless anxiety, frustration and depression?
